SATANOLOGY
INTRODUCTION: The word Satan came from the Hebrew word,
which means " THE ENEMY". So
since the time of rebellion of Lucifer, an arch angel of God in charge of this
earth, to whom this word was said " You were perfect in your ways from the
day you were created, till iniquity was found in you (Ezek. 28:15). The
glorious Angel (Satan) became an enemy since the day he turned against God.
This name given to this Angel has helped him in
his evil works, " the name of a man affects him". This same Angel is
one called " Devil" in Greek; which means " The accuser"

ASSURANCE
It is very difficult for many people to believe that enemy
like Satan is in the world, but it is obvious that everybody became conscious
of the presence of Satan because of his daily activities in human's life
HIS ORIGIN
The popular conception about Satan, that he is a being with
two horns and some believes that he puts on cloth of double colours e.g white
and black that forms the believe of the pagans (mythology) and not from the
Bible.
According
to the scripture, Satan was originally Lucifer, (Literally means "the light bearer") the most
glorious of the angels, but the pride
and aspiration to be like the Most high God fell into condemnation. (1Tim. 3:6)
We shall critically
consider two places in the Bible (Isa. 14: 12-15 & Ezek. 28: 12-19).
People have wondered why the kings of Babylon and Tyre were first
addressed on the account of Satan's fallen. The answer is that the Prophet
described Satan's fallen as examples of how the king of Babylon and Tyre
blasphemously claimed worship as God and made their subject the play thing of a
rootless ambition (compare Dan. 3:1-12; Rev. 13:15, Ezek. 28:2, Acts 12:20-23).
In order to warn them against such, God's inspired Prophet
drew the veil from the past aim and ambition of Satan that brought about the
fallen of the rebellious angel who said "I will be like God" a lesson
to learn here is, if God punished the blasphemous pride of this highly ranked
angel. He will not fail to judge any king who dares to sit on the place of
God. Notice how Satan
infected the first parents with his spirit (compare Gen. 3:5, & Isa. 14:14)
Note how disappointed
he was, but his pride ambition still filled him that he desired to be
worshipped as God of this world (Matt. 4;9, II Cor. 4:14) an ambition which
will be temporarily satisfied when he becomes incarnate in anti-christ (Rev.
13:9)
As a penalty for his wickedness, Satan was cast out of
heaven together with a group of angels who had enlisted in his rebellion (Matt.
25:4, Rev. 12-7, Eph. 2:2, Matt. 12-24) he attempted to gain Eve as an ally but
God aborted the plot and said " I will put enmity between thee and woman
(Gen. 3:15)
HIS NAMES AND CHARACTERS
The quality of Satan's character is indicated by the names
and titles by which he is known.
1. LUCIFER OR
ANOINTED CHERUB This angel
was known before his fallen as LUCIFER, son of the morning, Lucifer was the
most honoured of all the angelic hosts. Known as the ANOINTED CHERUB he was the
guardian of God's throne. From that exalted position he got pretty close to God
and got to know a lot of fundamental truths about beings and creation.
In this favored position, Lucifer was God's delegate to the
pre-Adamic world. He ruled in his beauty and glory and controlled the whole of
the world completely (Ezekiel. 28: 11-17, Isa. 14:12-14) In due course, his
great beauty, position and knowledge went to his head and he began to covet
God's throne. As his pride increased, thoughts of rebellion began to forment in
in him. Refusing to heed God's warning he incited one third of the Heavenly
hosts to support him in his coup against God. Because God is just and must
punish sin, He prepared hell as the eternal habitation for all angels who will
rebel or disobey. Unimpressed
Lucifer carried out his plan. He said he will rather be a prince in hell than
to be a servant in Heaven.
2. SATAN;- Literally
means " ADVERSARY" that shows his malicious and persistent attempts
to hinder purposes e.g. purpose of God a created man also the promise of God on
the seed of the woman. E.t.c
3. DEVIL:- Literally
means "SLANDERER" Satan is so called because he slands both God and
man 4. DESTROYER:- Satan is so called, because
his area of specialization is destroying every good things; e.g Homes, works,
Ministries, lives, future E.t.c. Rev.9:11 5. SERPENT: That old serpent called the devil Rev. 12:9. We need to
remember the one who used a serpent as his agent that brought about man's
downfall 6. TEMPTER:- Matt.4:3 The Word tempter came from attempt and attempt
literally means to tempt, tried and tested. God tests men for their good to
promote and develop their life, but Satan tempts them with malicious design of
destroying them 7. PRINCE OF DARKNESS:- Satan bears this
name because he loves darkness and he is the controller of all works doing in
the darkness. 8. PRINCE OF THE AIR:- Satan controls millions of demons in the
atmosphere and the people who travels in the spirit to hold meetings with the
ruler of darkness of this world are his captives 9. PRINCE OF THIS WORLD AND THE RULER OF HELL
John.12:31, II Cor. 4:4
These titles suggests his influences over Society to against God'swill. Even
Bible said it clearly that the world is under Satan's power and control. 1john
5:19, (L.B), 1 John 2:16 10. BELIAL:- This was used to describe
evil, it was used in the day of ELI the Prophet. Also BAALZEBUB was used in the New Testament to describe the chief of
the evil spirits, but the fact of the matter is that there is a particular
demon called Beelzebub who was one of the powers, but he is working closely
with Satan.
OPERATIONS
Satan the devil, operates in the world directly and
indirectly.
DIRECT
INTERFERENCE These are two kinds;
by his personal interference and by holding people in bondage. PERSONAL INCURSIONS This has happened twice
since the time of Adam and Eve. (1). Immediately after
the creation of Adam and Eve (2). When Jesus was born,
Satan did his best to destroy him
SATANIC BONDAGE
There are about four or five ways in which Satan binds
people to himself directly. There are other forms of demonic bondage but this
particular one is the bondage to the Lucifer (demon) himself.
MENTAL BONDAGE
Inhabiting the
transcendental place he exercise a Satellite control over the minds of men. In
this way he flashes picture, thoughts and suggestion into human minds. These
flashes pollutes and mislead people. The aim is to ensure to that the wearied
ones falls in line by claiming that these thoughts, plans and suggestions
originates from within them and so they executes them. The wearied ones feels
they are under mental persecution
because they cannot stop certain thoughts from coming into their minds.
All human minds are open to Satan's satellite system. The only free minds are
those renewed in the image of christ, Rm. 12:2, and are subject to the Holy
Spirit's control, Rm.8:6-10. Such minds have made the word of God their
meditations, Ps. 119:97, and they mind higher things Col. 3:1-2. The Redeemed mind may be
attacked by Satan but such a mind can be easily tuned off Satan because the
glory of God is in it. 2. Through Charms, armlets
talismans magical formulae and certain books. a. Charms and armlets are from the same source. Bondage through
these comes from the anxious search for healing and security. The anxious
seeker is sealed with Satan. The contract is written on paper, pieces of cloth
or leaves and these are either worn by the victim, eaten by him/her face, from
the day contract is made, the person is sealed with Satan, so the lesser demons
who were causing the initial misfortunes
will withdraw their activities. b. INCANTATIONS
WRITTEN
OR MEMORISED:- There are various to invoke the devil either by name one
indirectly c. BOOKS: Some
books which contains magical and witchcrafts formulae are dedicated to Satan.
Reading them or having them in the house automatically opens people to satanic
attacks and possession. Such books
are: (i). The greater key of
Moses in which you have a list of most of the invincible demons. (ii). The Moses
magical spirit Acts, also known as the sixth
and seventh Books of Moses. On the fly leaf of this
books the following words are written "SPECIAL PROTECTION OF LUCIFER IS OVER
EVERY HOUSE IN WHICH THIS BOOK IS FOUND AND OVER EVERY PERSON WHO READS OR
HANDLES IT" (iii). The Egyptians
Secret magical books, known as the Aalbertus magnus a reference book for higher
degree America initiates (iv). The
book of the dead in which Lucifer has the names of all who had rejected Christ
and are destined to spend eternity with him. It is the opposite of the book of
life. (v).
The book of Magic. (vi). Various books on
Indians occultism written by L.W DE LAWRENCE (vii). Various books on upland
occultism written by Tuesday Lobsang Rampa (viii). Various
manuscript on transcendental meditation as distributed by the Rosicrucians. This
propagates the Luciferaian doctrine in reasonable and acceptable doses until
the initiation reaches the highest degree by which time the mind is filled with
false-hood to discern the truth. (ix). UN WRITTEN BOOKS:- Floating around in the cosmos are unwritten
sources of Satanic information. These are obtained from the stars and form a
demonic compilation known as the akhastic records. All these are sources from
which occuccultists, mystics, mediums and fortune-teller gets materials.
Anybody who dabbles in these acts has made himself a protégé of Satan Read Deut
29:29 such a person is in need of deliverance. 3. CONTRACTS:
Many people signs various
contracts with Satan such contracts are concluded either with a meal, sex,
blood or music. Such contracts can only be broken by the Name of Jesus and
rendered null and void 4. CONCUBINAGE. Another
way in which Lucifer establishes his grip over individual is through
Concubinage
