                                                    DECLARATION
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God and in the presence of this congregation, to join together this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony; which is an honourable estate, instituted of God Himself, signifying unto us the mystical Union that is between Christ and His Church, which holy estate Christ adorned and beautified with His presence, and the first miracle that He wrought in Cana of Galilee and is commended in Holy Bible written to be honoured among men; and therefore is not to be enterprise nor taken in hand unadvisedly, lightly or wantonly; but reverently, discreetly, soberly and in the fear of God duly considering the causes for which matrimony was ordained.
FIRSTLY: It was ordained for mutual society, help and comfort that the one ought to have for the other both in adversity and prosperity.
SECONDLY: it was ordained for the increase of mankind according to the will of God and that children might be brought up in fear and nurture of the Lord and to the Praise of His Holy Name.
THIRDLY: It was ordained that the natural instincts and affections implanted by God should be allowed and directed aright; that those who are called to God to this Holy Estate should continue there in for pureness of living.
Into this Holy Estate these two persons come now to be joined. Therefore, if any man can show any just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, LET HIM NOW SPEAK OR ELSE, FOREVER HOLD HIS PEACE.
(If no impediment be alleged, the Minister speaking unto the two that hat whawhat thatttthat shallshall be married shall say)
C
                          argerge and Declaration
I require and charge both, as ye will answer on the dreadful day of judgment when the secret of all hearts shall be disclosed that if either of you know any impediment why ye may not lawfully be joined together in Matrimony, ye do now confess it. For ye be well assured that so many as are coupled together otherwise than God`s word doth allow are not joined together by God, neither is their matrimony lawful.
The man shall declare as follows:
I, --------------, hereby declare before God and His Congregation that I know not of any lawful impediment why I may not be joined in Holy Matrimony to -----------------.
                                                           And the woman:
I, ---------------, hereby declare before God and his Congregation that I know not of any lawful impediment why I may not be joined in Holy Matrimony to ---------------.
The minister will then place the right hand of the bride in the right hand of the bridegroom and                  turning to the bridegroom will say:
To Groom:      -----------------, do you take ------------- whose right hand you now hold, to be your                                                                       lawfully wedded wife? And solemnly promise God helping you that you will be a true and devoted husband to her that you will love her even as Christ love the Church, and honour, cherish, protect and care for her and to her alone, until, God by death, shall separate you?
Response: I WILL, the Lord being my helperTo Bride: --------------, do you take ---------------- whose right hand you now hold, to be your lawfully wedded husband? And solemnly promise, God helping you, that you will be a true and devoted wife to him? That you will submit yourself to him as unto the Lord, showing reverence to him as the head of this union: that you will love, honour, cherish, and comfort him for the rest of your lives? And that you will keep yourself to him and to him alone, until God, by death shall separate you?
Response: I WILL, the Lord being my helper
Joining and Blessing
Minister: Who gives this woman to this man in marriage?
Father: I DO
The minister will then place the right hand of the bride in the right hand of the groom, and the groom shall say after the Minister:
Groom: I, ------------------, now take you ----------------- as my wife, as my own flesh, to love you even as Christ loves the Church, to protect and care for you; to stand with you in the faith of the gospel of Christ, in health, prosperity and joy and in the faith against sickness, poverty and death for the rest of our lives. And on account of this, I, ----------------, according to the word of God, leave my father and mother and I join myself to you, to be your husband. From this moment forward, we shall be one.
The bride shall say after the minister
Bride: I, ------------------, now take you ----------------- as my husband, as my own flesh, to love you even as Christ loves the Church, to protect and care for you; to stand with you in the faith of the gospel of Christ, in health, prosperity and joy and in the faith against sickness, poverty and death for the rest of our lives. And on account of this, I, ----------------, according to the word of God, leave my father and mother and I join myself to you, to be your wife. From this moment forward, we shall be one.
The Minister receiving the rings from the man shall bless them saying:
Bless, O Lord, these Rings which we bless in thy name, and grant that they who shall wear them may keep true faith to each other and they both may abide in thy peace and according to thy will, and ever live in mutual love unto their lives and, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Groom holding the ring shall say after the minister:
With this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and all my worldly goods with thee I share. This is a token of my love for you and a token of my faith that I express now, in Jesus name
The Bride holding the ring shall say after the minister:
With this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and all my worldly goods with thee I share.
This is a token of my love for you and a token of my faith that I express now, in Jesus name.
Then they shall both kneel down, the minister shall then offer this prayer:
O Eternal God, creator and Preserver of all mankind, giver of all spiritual grace, the Author of everlasting life; Send thy blessing upon name that living faithfully together they may perform and keep the vow and covenant between them made whereof these rings given and received are a token and pledge; and may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, and live according to thy laws; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Then shall the minister join their hands together and say:
THOSE WHOM GOD HATH JOINED TOGETHER LET NO MAN PUT ASUNDER
Then shall the Minister speak unto the people
For as much as -------------------- and --------------------- have consented together in holy matrimony and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and thereto have given and pledged their troth each to the other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving of rings, and joining of hands; I pronounce that they be husband and wife together in the name of the Father, and of the son; and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
And the Minister shall add the blessing, saying:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the holy Spirit, bless, preserve and keep you: The Lord mercifully with His favour look upon you; and so fill you: with all spiritual benediction and grace, that ye may so live together in this life, in the world to come ye may have life everlasting. Amen.
                     Special prayer for the Couple.
